Hosted API use and licensing

OpenEmotions™ offers an open knowledge dataset and software. Software is licensed under Apache License 2.0. Database rights are offered under Open Data Commons Attribution License 1.0. Original editorial seed text is additionally Apache-2.0 licensed. Bibliographic references do not grant rights to reproduce third-party papers. Follow the full license texts and attribution notices.

Open dataset rights are distinct from access to a hosted server. Hosting operators may enforce fair-use request limits, suspend abusive traffic, change service capacity, or discontinue hosting. Cache versioned exports for bulk use, honor Retry-After, and avoid attempts to exhaust shared resources. v0.1 has no billing or paid access tiers.

Software, data and hosted access are provided without warranty to the extent set out by the applicable licenses. No availability, clinical validity, fitness for purpose or comprehensive coverage is promised.

The hosted service must not be used as the sole basis for high-stakes individual decisions, including clinical diagnosis, employment, education, insurance, credit or legal judgments. It does not provide mental-health advice or infer an individual's emotional state. These hosted-service conditions do not amend the open database license.

Use of an emotion model does not demonstrate consciousness or sentience in an AI system. Cite source versions, communicate limitations, and independently evaluate applications. Operators should review this policy and publish a service contact before making a production service available.
